Calling all my non-traditional gals...this one is for you! Gemstone engagement rings have become so much more popular in recent years. While I love a classic diamond engagement ring their is SO much you can do when choosing a gemstone as the center stone for your forever ring. Ever since Kate Middleton went bold and chose a sapphire engagement ring, more and more people are choosing this unique and gorgeous route for their rings!
The More Classic Sapphire
While this ring is anything but "classic" the sapphire center stone is typically what people envision when they think sapphire. Working with this couple was a blast because they wanted something completely unique. The details of this ring are everything, and make the sapphire pop. The diamond halo is super intricate, and we even added love knots to the top for a special touch. The center is low profile and the sapphire is prong set. I love how this ring turned out!
The Prettiest Pink Sapphire
I absolutely love a pink sapphire! Most people don't even realize that sapphires come in a variety of different colors, and I'm a sucker for the pink ones. The classic feel of this ring comes from the diamonds on the rose gold band. The uniqueness comes from this double claw prong set cushion cut pink sapphire! Cushion cuts tend to be a bit slippery so setting them in double claw prongs is always a great option to ensure durability.
Hidden Gemstone Details
Sometimes the hidden details make all the difference in giving your forever ring a special feel. This solitaire diamond engagement ring is just perfect! Set in yellow gold with diamonds halfway around the band, my client decided to add a special touch, his and her birthstones under where the center stone sits. Sometimes incorporating subtle gemstones into your custom ring is the perfect way to make it unique and your own.
A Green Sapphire With The Most Beautiful Hue
This custom ring was so fun to make! I sourced several gemstones and we decided on this beautiful oval green sapphire. For a more non-traditional twist we set the oval stone east-west. East-west settings are becoming more popular, and I love this look. We prong set the sapphire and added three dainty beautiful diamonds on each side. I love the contrast of the yellow gold and green sapphire, truly a gorgeous combo!
This custom ring was also made with a blue sapphire center stone, but the difference here is the gorgeous pastel color. This client is a super active athlete, so we knew she needed something durable. We decided to bezel set this sapphire, to ensure this ring would be good to go for this on-the-go gal. Bezel setting a stone is always a great option for more active people who work with their hands.
